PCP Color Challenge #4

(Originally posted on December 5, 2008)

Okay, so I never did get a card made for PCP Challenge 3.  But oh well! I’m moving on…  LOL

Here is #4!  I love these colors together!  And I really need to learn how to photograph my creations.  This picture just does NOT do the card (and the glitter!) justice.  But if you’re in my card clubs then you’ll get to see this one up close and personal and make it at your next meeting!

So anyway, here’s the inspiration piece I gave to all those at PCP in the Color Challenge group.

And here’s my creation:

See what I mean about the picture quality? Well okay, this is a scan but I tried taking a picture inside and outside and I just couldn’t get anything better!  Pathetic, huh?!  LOL  I think I should search the web for picture taking techniques!

Kristina’s 33rd Challenge

(Originally posted on December 4, 2008)

I wish I could say I’ve participated in all 33 of her Color Challenges, but alas, I have not.  But I did put some ink to paper tonight for the first time in two weeks! (And unfortunately you can tell I’m a bit rusty! LOL)  Oh well.

Here are the challenge colors:

And here is my card.  I used the Emboss Resist Technique.  I embossed the groovy flowers (for lack of a better term) with craft ink and clear embossing powder.  Then I ran my brayer over it with Chocolate Chip ink.   On the hodgepodge brad I simply dabbed some Taken with Teal craft ink in the indented part of the design and wiped it off the raised part.  The colors just seemed kind of 70’s to me so I went with a ‘groovy’ looking image and wanted it to stand out from a dark background.  I think I achieved a 70’s feel, what do you think?

And once again, I’m cutting it just minutes from her deadline! Eeek!

Christmas is Coming!

(Originally posted on November 30, 2008)

So, some of you know I’m away on vacation (yeah!) but I didn’t want my blog to sit idle while I was away!  So, I went searching through my never ending stash of stamped cards and 6 x 6 pages and came up with a few things to share with you while I’m (hopefully) enjoying some sun.  I hope you enjoy these creations…see you in December!

Here is another scrapbook page from last year.  This one uses the retired Festive Favorites set and some of our retired Organdy ribbon.  That color (wine) was probably my favorite Organdy ribbon ever!!  And why oh why did SU! have to retire the zig painty?  I LOVE that pen!  LOL

Congratulations Swap Card

This card I swapped for – somewhere.  I don’t know if it was at a Regional, COnvention, or Leadership but I just LOVED the simplicity of it.  It’s such a great card for all sorts of occasions – babies, graduations, new job, new home, etc.  The colors are great too.  I think the flowers are Blush Blossom, Ruby Red, and Mellow Moss.  And the gold brads with the pale yellow grosgrain ribbon just work!  Talk about a quick, great looking card, huh?  (It was created by LuAnn Dehne – but yes, the ‘desgined by me’ tag is on there for the legal stuff).
