Autumn Harvest Thanksgiving

(Originally posted November 26, 2008)

So, some of you know I’m away on vacation (yeah!) but I didn’t want my blog to sit idle while I was away!  So, I went searching through my never ending stash of stamped cards and 6 x 6 pages and came up with a few things to share with you while I’m (hopefully) enjoying some sun.  I hope you enjoy these creations…see you in December!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Happy Blessings Scrapbooking

(Originally posted on November 15, 2008)

I love fall.  I love the colors of fall, the tastes of fall, and of course, the awesome weather when it’s not too hot and not too cold!  This year we went apple picking and pumpkin twice, these pictures are from our playgroup outing.  It’s definitely one of my favorite activities!  Here is page one of a two page layout using the new Happy Blessings set from the Current Mini Catalog.  I did some paper piecing and piercing on this page. (Say that 3 times fast!)  The paper piecing was done with the Autumn Vine DSP, also found in the current mini.  Club members, click on over to your page to see page 2 and the other 2 page layout created at this month’s scrapbook club.

Sarah’s Card

(Originally posted on November 12, 2008)

Sarah sent me an e-mail today showing me a card she made for Halloween that was inspired by my Halloween layout found here.  Isn’t that a GREAT card???  I love that you can take a scrapbook idea and turn it into a card and vice versa.  Thank you for sharing with me Sarah and thank you for allowing me to share with everyone else!  (So, no, it wasn’t designed by me but I still put my watermark on it to get the (C) Stampin’ Up! legal stuff on there!)

Inspired by Colors

(Originally posted November 11, 2008)

I love looking around me and finding new and different color combinations.  You’ve seen me participate in Kristina’s color challenges a few times.  Well, I recently joined the PCP (www.papercraftplanet.com) community (and you should too!) and am now in charge of setting up a new color challenge every Wednesday!   I started my first one today (a day early, but it’s a holiday, and holidays are fun and color challenges are fun!)  and can’t wait to see what the other PCP members come up with.  Of course, it’s a totally optional thing and there are no prizes awarded but it’s great fun to challenge yourself, perhaps use colors you’re not used to using, and just get a little stamping time in for yourself.

So, all my wonderful blog followers will benefit from the challenges I’m doing over at PCP because I’ll post my inspirations and creations here each week as well!  Hope you enjoy.  And hope to see you over at PCP!

My Daughter’s Birthday Invitations

(Originally posted on November 10, 2008)

So, my baby girl (yes, she’s our middle child at the moment but she’ll always be our baby girl!) is turning 4 next month.  I can’t even believe it.  Of course she’s crazy excited for her party and has been busy making her own invitations for weeks now (not that any of them make their way out of the craft room or are remotely understandable!).  So yesterday I made her ‘real’ invitations.  Her favorite color is blue and she always asks for the green plate at lunch so I used those two colors as my starting point.  I loved the brightness of the Glossy White and using the blender pen on the Glossy White CS on my cupcake card earlier this week and I wanted to do something signifying ‘4′ (see the 4 balloons?), and I also like to try to use up some retired SU! items I have lying around.  With all that in mind, here’s what I ended up with.  (And apparently she likes them because all of her grandparents visited yesterday at some point and she showed her invites to all of them unprompted!)  I wish I could say the layout was all my idea but it wasn’t.  Something has to give, right? LOL So I CASEd the layout from ’sepia’ on SCS.
