My Digital Studio Thank you Note

So I did some more (a lot more) playing with My Digital Studio today!  The deadline for SU! demos to become certified in My Digital Studio was today so I watched a lot of webinars and took some quizzes.  Phew!  I’m beat!   This software can do sooo much more than I had thought it would do.  To try to absorb it all in one day (with the boys home) was a bit overwhelming but really, really great!  Another requirement to become certified is to create a project and have it printed.   I hadn’t yet made Drew’s thank you notes so this was the perfect chance to do so!   (You may remember his birthday invitations and then his cupcakes!)  I’m excited to have those made and not have that in the back of my mind anymore and I’m excited to see the MDS printing quality and be able to share them with you!

Here’s what I came up with.  The first picture is the front of the card, the second picture is the inside left and the last picture is the inside right of the card.  It’s a little challenging to get the whole effect here because the card is a Whisper White base and this post has a white background!  Hopefully you get the general idea.   You may click on the card front to see a little movie of the card.  (I’m so fancy, huh?!?)

Polka Dot Ornament Card

I love polka dots.  I love black and white.  I love starting with a card sketch.  I love Gymboree.

Did you read that last one twice?  LOL  Yes, I love Gymboree, the kids clothing store.  Let me explain why that pertains to this post: the colors and the patterns!  There’s this great Panda Bear line right now at Gymboree and slowly I’ve been adding pieces of this line to my daughter’s closet (even got some more today!).  So this great clothing line was the inspiration for my card.  Here’s the Mojo Monday sketch, the Gymboree line, and my card!  Enjoy.  (Click on the card for an added bonus.)

Scrapbook Club Projects

I {heart} scrapbooking!  And I love having the scrapbook club back in action cuz it helps me get more pages ready to go!  So here’s some ‘before’ shots of the pages for this month.  And hopefully VERY soon I’ll get some ‘after’ shots with pictures on them!

I used the new Night & Day Specialty Designer Papers as well as a LOT of punches on this layout.  I love how versatile the Baroque Motifs stamp set is as well.  Who would’ve thought it would be a great stamp set for Halloween??  But when I pulled out the Night & Day designer paper I immediately thought of Baroque Motifs.  Hope you like it too!

Here’s the second layout for the scrapbook club members and guests.  Again, I used the Night & Day Specialty Designer paper.  This time I pulled out my Medallion background stamp, inked it up with Frost White shimmer paint and stamped it half on each page.  I also did a ton more punching to make that spider (scallop circle and photo corner punches) and used the Big Shot to get the Build a Bear.  I used a marker to color a toothpick Elegant Eggplant and used that as the holder for the Happy Halloween banner the little bear is holding.

Continuation of last month’s club projects…

Sorry I ended my last post earlier than I had wanted to but the baby was crying and needed me and then it was already pretty late so I just went to bed!  Anyway!!!!  Here are the Big Shot projects from October.  This club went by so quickly!  I can’t believe it’s already over.  So sad.  It was fun girls!!

1. a card using the Leaves #2 die
2. a gift card holder using the envelope die but with a twist, so that it fits a gift card (the original die isn’t quite big enough for a gift card)  I’d love to show you how to make this oh-so-simple and quick gift card holder!
3. a Halloween treat box using the Top Note die
4. a Christmas Card using the Movers & Shapers die (remember you can get this for $10 this month! Ask me how!)

FUN!

If you’re interested in learning how to use the Big Shot and make great projects like these and others you’ve seen on my blog, please let me know.  I’d love to teach you and your friends how to use this super simple, super versatile Big Shot machine!

And this month there’s a great Big Shot package!!  Click on the Gift Giving Guide to see this awesome new bundle!

I just realized I never posted last month’s club projects!  DUH!  So here we go…

3) a Frankenstein card using the Top Note die
4) a fun Christmas card using the new ‘O Christmas Tree’ die (You could get this die for just $10 this month!  Click here to find out how!)

Club members – I will get the direction sheets up on your page… soon… I need to get some sleep tonight though!  I think I’m finally crashing from the 48 hour sugar high I’ve been on.  Anyone else??  LOL
