The Open Sea Scrapbook Pages

I think I may have mentioned before that my favorite (current) stamp set is The Open Sea.  Well, here it is again… this time used on a Scrapbook Layout that we did at my scrapbook club in May.  I just LOVE the versatility of the set and of course the vintage look is very "me'. :)

Here's a closeup of one of the tags…

Popcorn and Movie anyone?

So I was doing a little creative searching online a little while ago and found these popcorn and movie inspired projects on a blog.  I immediately knew I was going to translate them into scrapbook pages for this month's scrapbook club.  I need a third "movie thing" to add to the layout with the popcorn and director's so I did a quick google search for movie images and found a movie reel.  After SEVERAL attempts at making a movie reel it finally hit me to just simply punch out some circle in a larger circle! DUH!  I was trying all sorts of different shapes and not loving what I was getting.  I don't know where or why I finally thought of the circles but I think it works!  And I also think it would be super cute to put multiple pictures in those smaller circles… your own little film strip if you will!

I used the ticket corner punch (of course) to make the tickets.  The two on the left are for a title or journaling.  You could also put some black letters on the popcorn bucket for your title.  I used the star punches with Daffodil Delight card stock and added shimmer with the Champagne Mist shimmer paint.  It's the PERFECT amount of shine for these stars!  And of course the spiral punch was used for the film strips.

So, who knows what I used to make the popcorn? ;)

The Birthday Party Projects

So as promised here are the projects the girls did at Emma's birthday party!

An owl card good for any occasion.  The girls loved being able to "dress" their owl!

They decorated journals with some retired DSP (sad we can't get this beautiful paper anymore but yes, I KNOW we have loads of other DSPs.  I'm kind of a DSP junkie.), retired grosgrain ribbon, a retired alphabet set, and a current spiral punch that coordinates beautifully with our spiral journals.  They also had fun making a beaded pen to go with their journals.  Because really, what's a journal without a coordinating pen?  ;)

And now my Lauren is loving her new journal!  I'm sure Elizabeth will be whining she doesn't have one very soon. :)

Emma’s 9th Birthday

Emma is a frequent stamper of mine and she's 9! She and her mom come to most of my mom & me classes and she is such a love.  I've actually known Emma and her mom for about 7 years now and remember her toddling around with this headful of adorable curly hair and now she's 9!  Crazy.
So, Emma's mom approached me and told me that Emma wanted to stamp at her birthday party.  LOVE IT!  How could I say no?  So first, every birthday girl needs a birthday present, right?!  So here was my present to her…a scrapbook layout to scrap her 9th birthday party.

A row of 9 (of course) cupcakes with some sugary cherries on top!

Here's the journaling block.  This cherry has a dab of crystal effects on it to make it look super yummy!!

Tomorrow, I'll show you the projects the girls stamped!

Hope you enjoyed this absolutely gorgeous weather this weekend!!
