Some Convention Display Board Pics
So literally about two hours ago I figured out I could upload my pictures to this computer my husband let me take with me to Convention!! How exciting is that?
So here are a few pictures taken of the display boards here at Convention. These are projects other demonstrators subitted to SU! over the past year. So not all projects use current supplies but I think they could all be adapted into current supplies or maybe you have your own product substitutions lying around!!
There are seriously like hundreds if not thousands of samples around and I just take pictures of things that grab me. Now unfortunately, sometimes when I’m reviewing the pictures I can’t remember what grabbed me but that’s okay! Hopefully some of these grab you.
Inspired by…
Needing a card for my Great Aunt’s birthday coming up in a couple weeks (and having an afternoon of no children!) I decided to combine two challenges again – MojoMonday and Kristina’s Color Challenge. I’ll show you my card first (for a change) and then give you the inspiration pieces. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

So the details… card base is Ruby Red followed by a 5-1/4" x 4" layer of Old Olive and then a 5" x 3-3/4" layer of Brocade Blue that I ran through my Big Shot with the Stampinp’ Up! Background Texturz Plate. I used a stampin’ sponge and some Chocolate Chip ink to highlight the dry embossed areas on the Brocade Blue background to make them pop a little more. The DSP is a retired one (Fall Flowers, maybe?) and is 1" x 5". I put a thin strip of Pumpkin Pie on top and layered some 1" circles on the bottom… yes, I could’ve used my trusty scallop edge punch but for some reason I felt this needed a bigger scallop. The main image is stamped on Watercolor Paper (3-3/4" x 2-1/2") and I colored directly on the Inspired by Nature stamp with my Watercolor crayons (Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, & Old Olive), then added a little water to the stamp with my aquapainter, then stamped on the Watercolor Paper. (Do I sense a need for another video tutorial? LOL) Then I used Brocade Blue with the aquapainter for the background. The Ruby Red layer of CS is 3-7/8" x 2-5/8") behind the main image. I punched out a 1" Chocolate Chip circle, a 3/4" Old Olive circle, and one Ruby Red flower from the Flowers Three punch and layered them all together after cutting the circles in half. The brads used are More Mustard but I thought they pulled out the Pumpkin Pie colors nicely. The happy birthday is from Goody, Goody Gumdrops; I used my Chocolate Chip marker to ink that up and stamped it on the Watercolor paper and punched out with my small oval punch. That is layered on a Pumpkin Pie large oval and that’s it!
So the colors are probably obvious now:
And the layout came from a past Mojo challenge. I didn’t follow the sketch layout to a "T" but for all intents and purposes I think it’s pretty obvious this is where the layout came from!
Inspired by Nature, again…
So, here’s yet another card using the Inspired by Nature stamp set. I just love this set! And I got a few new fun things yesterday so I had to play with those too! Remember that Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon I loved so much on Dawn’s Upsy Daisy card? Got it. And I also got the new large oval punch. I think this is such a great all occasion card and these daisies were inspired by my neighbor’s daisies – hers really are pink!

This is actually one of the cards members of my Marker club will be making tonight. Supplies used are:
Stamp Set: Inspired by Nature
Card Stock: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red
Inks: Pads: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, and Always Artichoke marker
Tools: large oval punch, scallop edge punch, stampin’ sponge, sponge dauber, blender pen, dimensionals
Accessory: Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon

Daisies??
Okay, so I’m not even close to finishing the scrapbook layout I started this afternoon (for tomorrow night’s club – eek!) but I had to stop and take a picture because I just love the look of the daisies. (At least I think they’re daisies…if they’re not, someone please tell me!) My middle child was on my lap (no big surprise there) when I was stamping and the look on her face after I stamped the first daisies was awesome! She loved it and of course wanted to stamp the next ones herself.
So this first picture is one of the flowers in the front of my house right now.
And the second one is my start to a scrapbook layout using the new "Inspired by Nature" stamp set. I just love this Silouette style stamp!!! Sorry it’s a little dark. But you can see the color ink pads I used along with the sponge daubers. Now enough chatting – I need to get cracking or my scrapbook club members won’t have anything to stamp tomorrow night! LOL
