Team Meeting Projects

Some of my team members and I got together the other night.  It had been a few months since we had seen each other and it was so great to catch up with everyone.  The ladies swapped some fabulous cards and brought their latest samples to share with everyone.  In the midst of all the catching up we did a tiny bit of stamping.  Everyone found a new use for old blueberry and cherry tomato containers (my husband thinks I’m crazy to save such stuff but how cute, right?!) and also created a 3"x3" card featuring a paper flower (tutorial here) that fit nicely in the container.  Other items you could put in the container – votive candles, candies, baby onesies, you get the idea!

Team Shoebox Swap card

First off, a little business to take care of… click HERE to see the latest update on the Product and Ribbon shares happening now.

This is so weird.  I KNOW I wrote this entire post on Monday of this week and had it set to publish for Tuesday.  However I have no idea where it went!  Anyway… here we go again…

The card below I CASED from Patsy Waggoner on the new Stampin’ Up! demonstrator only Stampin’ Connection web site.  She did it with a slightly different color scheme but when I saw it I immediately fell in love with it and knew I had to make one too.

So, thanks to Tracy on my team letting me borrow her new Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch and Welcome Neighbor designer series paper pad I was able to create this card.  Some fabulous girls on my team and I got together Tuesday night for a shoebox swap and this is the card I had prepped for all the girls to create.  You should see the cards the other girls brought that I got to make!  They are truly awesome and I promise I will post them on my blog over the next few days so you can see the talent on my team!

Other products used:

Stamp Sets: Upsy Daisy, Happy Moments (SAB 2010)
Punches: Spiral and Extra Large Two Step Bird
Embossing Folder: Petals a Plenty (did you know you can still order this?!  It was featured in the Holiday mini 2009 but is still available for purchase! (Item #116824 $7.95)
Embellishments: Ice Rhinestone circle brad (I took out the bling and used a glue dot to attach as an eye.), Bashful Blue grosgrain ribbon

Many Pictures, One Card

Okay, so I know you already saw this card (originally posted on December 10, 2008) and many of you had commented on it (thank you!) but I thought I’d post it again because I like it so much!
Remember the really long discussion I had written about just how does one take a photo? LOL Well, I’ll spare you that commentary this time and just post my pictures.
This was inspired by Kristina’s Color Challenge #34. (See the colors in the first photo.) And here were the different photos of my card…

Playing around

While I finally have a few free minutes I thought I’d play with Upsy Daisy, I love the set but haven’t had time to play with it, and some new DSP and the new Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla satin ribbon.  I have a lot of fun workshops coming up in the next few weeks so I need to get crackin’!  This is card #1.  I like it, I don’t love it, so I’m going to try again.  I think something about the layout is throwing me off but I haven’t figured out what yet.  I do really like the unusual color combination I chose: Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, and Baja Breeze.  Don’t be surprised if you see a version of this at the next workshop you attend!  Now let’s see if I can get one more stamped before it’s time to start creating dinner!  LOL

Great Card, Great News

Isn’t that card gorgeous?  I wish I could take credit for it but I cannot.  My friend, Dawn Bosland, a demo from Massachusetts sent it to me this weekend.  It uses the Upsy Daisy stamp set (that’s on sale right now!) and the new Riding Hood Red card stock, taffeta ribbon (to die for – I must get some immediately!), the Bella Rose designer paper, a ribbon slide, and silver brads.  It also uses the new Pink Pirouette card stock and the Kiwi Kiss card stock.  And I LOVE IT!  Honestly, the whole card is just put together so nicely.  The slight sponging of Riding Hood Red around the edges of the Whisper White card stock is just perfect too.  Thank you Dawn for such a fabulous card!

Now some of you might be wondering why on Earth would someone be sending me a Congratulations card?  (In case you can’t see it "Congratulations" is stamped in Riding Hood Red ink on the bottom left of the card.)  Well, I’ll answer that question for you in one word: "fourth".  Does that give it away? If not, I’ll use more words for you – we’re expecting our fourth child this coming March (6th to be exact).  I know, I know, our youngest just turned one YESTERDAY but our girls are 19 months apart and then our son and this one will be 18 months apart.  So, there is a reason for it even though I completely understand how it sounds insane to most people!  LOL  We’re happy and I’m exhausted but exhaustion as you moms know is just a way of life!  So that’s it – a great card and great news.  Happy Stamping!
