Heritage Holidays

Originally posted October 23, 2008

Unfortunately I think that most people overlook this fabulous stamp set in the catalog.  I have played with it several times (for one, I am doing a class featuring the Heritage Holidays stamp set coming up on November 10th) and this is my latest creation using the set.  If you’re coming to my Christmas Card stamp a stack on November 6th then you’ll be making 3 of these!  Lucky you!

And Kristina’s challenge this week was pretty vague – Use Red – any color red as the main color of the card.  So I think this works! :)   Let me know what you think!  Oh and thank you to Becky Roberts, another SU! demo, for inspiring the layout of the card.

Find the Original

All too often I hear "I’m not creative, I can’t come up with anything."  And hopefully most of you know my answer to that: "you don’t have to be, that’s what the catalog is for!!"

So, to prove that I too use the catalog for inspiration for color combinations, layouts, and everything else, I’m showing you a card we did at last night’s Christmas stamp a stack.  My challenge for you is to find the card in the catalog that inspired this card.  Once you find it, post a comment here on my blog letting me know which card you think it is by Monday, the 25th at 5 pm EST.  I’ll then randomly choose one winner from all the posts, using random.org, and send that person one each of the four different Christmas cards we made last night!!

Next time you’re stuck turn to a fabulous source for inspiration – the Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalog!!

Okay – well you ladies are smart. It was indeed inspired by the Simply Said card on p 59. And Amanda – definitely the one on page 38 would’ve been a great guess too! I certainly can see many similarities between the two cards. So, the winner of the 4 Christmas cards is as chosen by random.org:

There were 3 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

3
1
2
Timestamp: 2008-08-25 22:53:27 UTC

So comment #3 – Amanda –  is the winner!
I’m happy you three (come on I KNOW more of you looked at this post – don’t be lazy! LOL) participated. I’ll be sure to put more fun games on here in the future and give away more free stuff! Who doesn’t like free stuff????
