Loving the Holiday Mini!!

So, just so you know… just because there aren't posts here on my blog doesn't mean I haven't been stamping!!  I've actually been able to do quite a bit of stamping lately, just not a lot of blogging!

So, I have a few minutes before I run out for the evening so I wanted to share one of my most favorite cards right now.  I just LOVE it! It uses a bajillion new things from the Holiday mini and it makes me happy!  I hope it makes you happy too!

I actually had this card as one of the Make and Takes at my last Team Meeting.  Do you see all the NEW things?  Check out the supply list below.  And because it's been a while, I included all the dimensions and some tips on how to make the card as well!  Hope you enjoy!

Cover Pages are tricky…

Well, for me anyway.  Cover pages for scrapbooks.  I never know what picture should be the first picture in the scrapbook!  Maybe if I scrapped chronologically it would be simpler, huh?  ANyway, one of my friends/scrapbook club members had a baby girl last week and I wanted to design a cover page appropriate for her beautiful (and I mean BEAUTIFUL) baby girl.  Here's what I came up with.  I envision a nice black and white picture (or maybe sepia toned one) on the Chocolate Chip layer and her name and birth date written on the Daffodil Delight scallop circle.

What do you think?  Do you see my vision?  What other title might you put on here?

And remember, for all of you moms with boys only.  It's OKAY to use flowers and butterflies on your scrapbook pages (okay, maybe not for football pictures, but ya know what I mean!)!  It's YOUR scrapbook!  You're a girl!  It only makes sense!

Items Used:
Beyond the Garden DSP (very pretty and fun paper in the current Summer Mini)
Jumble Alphabet (retiring 6/30 :( )
Scallop Border Trim Punch
Perfect Polka Embossing folder with Big Shot
Corner Rounder
Beautiful Butterflies Die for Big Shot (exclusive to Stampin' Up!)
Self Adhesive Halfback Pearls
Buttons
White Baker's Twine
Daffodil Delight 1/8" taffetta ribbon
White Gel Pen
Card Stock: Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango

Popcorn and Movie anyone?

So I was doing a little creative searching online a little while ago and found these popcorn and movie inspired projects on a blog.  I immediately knew I was going to translate them into scrapbook pages for this month's scrapbook club.  I need a third "movie thing" to add to the layout with the popcorn and director's so I did a quick google search for movie images and found a movie reel.  After SEVERAL attempts at making a movie reel it finally hit me to just simply punch out some circle in a larger circle! DUH!  I was trying all sorts of different shapes and not loving what I was getting.  I don't know where or why I finally thought of the circles but I think it works!  And I also think it would be super cute to put multiple pictures in those smaller circles… your own little film strip if you will!

I used the ticket corner punch (of course) to make the tickets.  The two on the left are for a title or journaling.  You could also put some black letters on the popcorn bucket for your title.  I used the star punches with Daffodil Delight card stock and added shimmer with the Champagne Mist shimmer paint.  It's the PERFECT amount of shine for these stars!  And of course the spiral punch was used for the film strips.

So, who knows what I used to make the popcorn? ;)

Gina’s Red, White and Blue swap card

And the hits just keep on comin'!  Yet another great card made by fellow team member Gina at our last demo get together.  Gina wanted to take no credit for it as she said it was inspired by a card in the current Idea Book & Catalog but seriously?  She has to take some credit!  It's a GREAT card.  VERY WELL put together.  I've been eyeing that Extreme Elements stamp set for a couple years now (yes, I said years!  See the restraint I've exhibited?!) but I think this card proves I must have it.  MANY times I've thought "if only I had the (insert image here) stamp from Extreme Elements" so thanks Gina – you talked me into it! :)   The dotted background, the splatter background, the crown, fluorishes and stars are all very versatile stamps!!

Emma’s 9th Birthday

Emma is a frequent stamper of mine and she's 9! She and her mom come to most of my mom & me classes and she is such a love.  I've actually known Emma and her mom for about 7 years now and remember her toddling around with this headful of adorable curly hair and now she's 9!  Crazy.
So, Emma's mom approached me and told me that Emma wanted to stamp at her birthday party.  LOVE IT!  How could I say no?  So first, every birthday girl needs a birthday present, right?!  So here was my present to her…a scrapbook layout to scrap her 9th birthday party.

A row of 9 (of course) cupcakes with some sugary cherries on top!

Here's the journaling block.  This cherry has a dab of crystal effects on it to make it look super yummy!!

Tomorrow, I'll show you the projects the girls stamped!

Hope you enjoyed this absolutely gorgeous weather this weekend!!
